Water

The water treatment system consists of 2 wells and a treatment plant which includes cascade aeration, a serpentine mixing chamber, a 25,000 gallon detention tank, 2 gravity sand filters for iron and manganese removal, phosphate addition for corrosion control, and sodium hypochlorite injection for disinfection.

The water distribution system consists of 25,000 gallon ground storage reservoir, 2 high service pumps, a 250,000 gallon elevated storage tower, 183 known valves, 67 fire hydrants, 564 known curb stops, and around 53,200 feet of water main.

Roland also has an emergency connection to rural water from Iowa Regional Utilities Association in case of treatment plant outage or issues.

Roland water rates are found in the Code of Ordinances Chapter 92.02, usage is metered at the property.
