Sump Pumps
The
council recently
enacted a new ordinance regulating sump pumps.
Homeowner’s
that are selling a home
in Roland will need to provide a Certificate
of Sump Pump
Inspection to the Buyer before
the transfer of the home
can be made.
In addition, those
homes that have sump
pumps that discharge into the street will need to have a permit. Please
contact Harold so
that he may inspect
the hook up and issue
the permit.
Street Superintendent Harold Hovick
is putting together a program to
inspect sump pump
hook ups. In the mean
time, he is asking that you
check your
sump pump connection
and make sure it is not dumping
water into the sanitary sewer. If you
find your
sump pump is connected
to the sanitary sewer system you will need to
redirect the water to
the storm sewer or
out onto your
lawn. If you
have any questions, contact
Harold at 388-4861.
