MINUTES OF THE ROLAND CITY COUNCIL

GOAL SETTING SESSION

TUESDAY, JULY 15, 2008

 

Note:  The following minutes were approved by the Roland, Iowa, City Council at its July 28, 2008, council meeting.

 

The Roland City Council held a goal setting session on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at 7:00 p.m., at the Roland City Hall with Mayor Samuel Juhl presiding.  Council members present at roll call were Larry Ford, Corey Johnson, Jeri Neely and Erin Varley.  Absent was council member Duane Canny.  Also present were Jeff Schott, Goal Session Facilitator, Street Superintendent Harold Hovick, Water/Wastewater Superintendent Dean Uitermark, and City Clerk Deneen Frost.

 

It was moved by Ford, seconded by Varley to approve the agenda.  All were in favor.

 

Jeff Schott, with the Institute of Public Affairs, introduced himself and went over the ground rules for the meeting.  He then had the Mayor, Council members and Staff introduce themselves.  Once the introductions were over Jeff went over the results of the questionnaire that was sent out for the elected officials and staff to fill out and by the end of the session the election officials had provided Jeff with several on going priorities and six (6) initiatives to work on.  Jeff will put together a report of all the information that was covered for the Council to approve and adopt.

 

Council/Mayor comments consisted of the following:  it was a good session – we now have direction.

 

There was no public input at this time.

 

With no further business at this time, Varley moved adjournment of the meeting at 7:21 p.m., seconded by Johnson.  All were in favor.  The next regular council meeting will be Monday, July 28, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
