MINUTES OF THE ROLAND CITY COUNCIL

SPECIAL SESSION

FEBRUARY 19, 2008

 

Note:  The following minutes were approved by the Roland City Council its February 25, 2008, meeting.

 

The Roland City Council met in special session on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at 7:00 p.m., at the Roland City Hall with Mayor Samuel Juhl presiding.  Council members present at roll call were Duane Canny, Larry Ford, Corey Johnson, Jeri Neely and Erin Varley.  Also present were 3 visitors and members of the community.

 

It was moved by Varley, seconded by Canny to approve the agenda.  All were in favor.

 

Council members met once again to review the FY 2008/2009 budget numbers.  The council worked on the General Fund which was overspent by $12126.  By the end of the session, the General Fund was balanced.  Cuts were made to the following departments:  Fire, RRT, Streets, Library, Park, Pool and City Hall.  City Clerk Frost will complete the budget forms for publication.  The council will officially adopt the FY 08/09 budget on March 10th, 2008.

 

Council/Mayor comments consisted of the following:  grants available; CM Neely stated she will not be at the next council meeting.

 

There was public input at this time from Library Board President Kristy Anderson.  Kristy stated the Library employees will appreciate the wage increase.  She also reported that the Library has had three Director’s in the last ten years and all three cited financial reasons were why they left.

 

With no further business at this time, Neely moved adjournment of the meeting at 7:53 p.m., seconded by Johnson.  All were in favor.  The next regular council meeting will be Monday, February 25, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
